Conversion work on the Hôtel des Postes in Luxembourg has begun

As part of the project to convert the Hôtel des Postes in Luxembourg, presented in June 2020 by POST Luxembourg and the ARTEA Group, the building permits were issued in mid-2022 and the structural work began in October 2022.

These works follow the deconstruction of some of the more recent elements that partly occupied the inner courtyard. The objective of this approach is to enhance the cultural and architectural value of the Hôtel des Postes. Indeed, the project aims to recover the original aspect of the building, notably by removing the metal structures that covered the inner courtyard, as well as the central wing that separates it.

As a reminder, within the framework of this collaboration, POST Luxembourg and the ARTEA Group are co-investors in the transformation of the Hôtel des Postes, on the basis of 51% POST and 49% ARTEA. The building, which will remain fully owned by POST Luxembourg, will subsequently be operated by ARTEA and will house a hotel, two restaurants, a bar, shops, co-working spaces and a wellness area.

The architectural concept of the Hôtel des Postes, a listed national monument located in a UNESCO protected area, was entrusted to « Romain Schmiz architectes & urbanistes », based in Luxembourg. The general concept of the project was entrusted to Studio Jean-Philippe Nuel, based in Paris. This firm specialises in the design of prestigious hotel projects throughout the world and has numerous achievements to its credit.

While the hotel part of the project will be operated by the ARTEA Group, under their STORIA brand, the commercial and restaurant parts have not been awarded at this stage. The opening of the Hotel des Postes is planned for the end of 2024.

The website www.hoteldespostes.lu will gradually evolve as the Hôtel des Postes project progresses.
